About Chaplain Sonja Miles
Sonja Miles learned to love the Lord through God's unconditional love and grace. God has carried her thus far, and will continue to carry her home.
She grew up as the Baptist Preacher's daughter in a small Utah town. Those experiences have touched Sonja in a unique way, enriching her life and shaping her with love she carries for others today. Sonja's desire is that all should know the deep love God lavishes, the freedom of relationship with Christ as Savior, and the peace God provides for living.
Sonja finshed her Bachelors degree at University of Missouri and attended graduate school at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri where she completed her Masters degree and graduated with honors. She then completed Clinical Pastoral Education in Houston, Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Hermann Hospitals. She is an endorsed Chaplain through the Southern Baptist Convention and continues to serve in Health Care Chaplaincy. Sonja has taught Bible Study for several years in many different venues.
Sonja now resides in the mountains of Utah near family. She is especially blessed to be very involved in the lives of her nephew and nieces. She continues to Speak at Christian gatherings, teach Bible Study every Sunday, write Books, Bible Studies, Bible Study Guides and other books of interest.
Excerpt from the poem "Seven Years" by Sonja Miles:
"Seven years"
The first seven years, God loved me from the start
I was born with a hole in my heart
No one knew until I was seven
God covered that hole with a little piece of heaven
"Miracle Baby" the headlines read
This baby should have been born dead
Why is this so hard for them to understand
I thought to myself as I looked up at God's hand...
"My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:2-3 NIV
